Teaching

Dr. Pawlowic is the Co-Module Manager with Prof Marcus Lee for:

University of Dundee BS42012

Aims: To introduce students to molecular, cellular and biochemical aspects of selected parasitic protozoa. A specific emphasis on the interplay between basic biology and the understanding of pathogenesis and challenges associated with therapeutics will also be evident. 4th year undergraduate parasitology module

Dr. Pawlowic previously provided lectures for the following training courses:

Middle Eastern Biology of Parasitism (MeBoP)

Aims: To provide high-caliber scientific training covering various aspects of parasitology research from molecular biology and epidemiology to genomics.  We believe that it is critical that scientific skills that are well established elsewhere in the world are disseminated to endemic areas where they can be put into practice to face local issues.

To provide an environment where young scientists from conflicted political areas are given the opportunity to focus on their mutual professional interests and goals, and to promote networking and the building of professional collaborations across these areas.

Biology of Parasitism

This course will cover important aspects of modern research on apicomplexan parasites and will be divided in lectures given by leading experts in each field, and two distinct ex perimental modules.

The focus of lectures is broad and intends to be multidisciplinary covering relevant topics on pathogenesis and treatment of apicomplexan diseases, molecular and cellular biology of apicomplexan parasites, bioinformatics and database mining, immunology and animal models, genotyping and drug discovery/drug resistance.

Latin America Biology of Parasitism

A unique 6-week course for advanced doctoral students and postdocs who are seeking in-depth training in modern approaches to the study of protozoan parasites and parasitic worms.
