2023 Lab Graduation

We are so proud of our graduates this year. They worked incredibly hard, through the struggles of joining a new lab, being forced out of the lab for months due to the COVID 19 pandemic, and an array of other challenges that just come with everyday life. Their work is so impressive- we can’t wait to share it with you all in several papers to be written up and published soon. We are also proud of our graduates next steps and can’t wait to see how their career progresses!

PhDs: Ross Bacchetti, Jack Hanna, and Emma Sands

Integrated Masters: Flora Caldwell

Flora also won the Top Biosciences Masters Research Project at Dundee awarded by the Royal Society of Biology. She will be starting a PhD funded by EASTBio in Joanna Young’s lab in Edinburgh in the autumn.

Ross is working as a clinical scientist trainee for the NHS in Glasgow.

Jack is a postdoctoral researcher in Clare Harding’s lab in Glasgow.

Emma is in the midst of applying for jobs and also got engaged… so it will be continued celebrations for her this year!

Ceremony for School of Life Sciences graduates starting!
Great shot of Flora during the ceremony (from official photographers!)

Simona watched from the Jury box and captured these photos of our graduates before they crossed the stage!

Yes, in Scotland a pipe band is waiting when you exit the ceremony!
No Pawlowic Lab group photoshoot is complete without a sorority squat!

Please enjoy this lovely photo montage of the moments Mattie suggesting the sorority squat pose 🙂
